Discover the unspoilt beauty of Fuerteventura

The paths through the valley of Muley in Fuerteventura are stunning. An interesting hike through the interior landscape of the island. A desert and volcanic landscape in the wildest Canary Island. Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, this ancient island is full of amazing animals, history and legends.

Route

Starting in Caleta de Fuste, this treck will take you through the valley of the Muley canyon, an ancient and natural dry river bed, where there are freshwater springs. The trails will lead us into the bottom of the valley, where you will have the chance to see peregrine falcons, ravens, hoopoe and other wildlife typical of the island. The route of the valley is not simple, but not due to inclines, but due to it´s length of more than 13km and the high temperatures that the desert terrain can sometimes reach. It is not recommended for children unless they are accustomed to long walks and high temperatures. The route will follow no gradients but the hike is not easy, you will encounter the rocky landscape of the Muley valley .

The  excursion will continue to the ruins of an ancient village, where you can learn about the local history and ends in the village of Triquivijate, one of the oldest on the island. Rural countryside landscape with a beautiful church. Here is where we stop for lunch of Canarian cuisine in a typical restaurant.

The flora and fauna of the island are very particular and you can meet many species of birds, lizards and geckos and wild goats. Fuerteventura is located on the migratory routes of some important varieties of birds. The flora is very poor, due to the almost total absence of fresh water.

Lunch included in the excursion

Second: Stewed goat in Majorera sauce.

Dessert: Cake of the day
